2004 NFL Draft Special
By BDDC Staff.

April means it is time for the annual NFL draft and we at Beerdude.com thought what better time to present our first ever mock draft? We know you've been on the edge of your seat waiting for this as the Internet surely needs another mock NFL draft. Who will go #1? Will your team make a good pick or blow it? One thing for certain is that there will be plenty of new millionaires when training camp rolls around in the summer. We hope you enjoy our mock draft as much as we enjoyed creating it.

VERSION 1.0 - UPDATED 4/1/04

PICKTEAMBEERDUDE.COM SAYS...
1
San Diego Chargers
ELI MANNING - QB - Mississippi
Sure, the Bolts could pull a surprise and pick one of the stellar receivers since they just unloaded David Boston, but we think they will wait to get that receiver later on in the draft. They really messed up before by passing on brother Peyton, they won't make the same mistake this time with little brother Eli.

2
New York Giants
ROBERT GALLERY - OL - Iowa
We smell a trade here and why not? The Raiders can move down a couple of spots and still get one of the players they want. As for the Giants, they get the best OL in the draft and a guy who looks like he can toss a few kegs around. Full ones.

3
Arizona Cardinals
LARRY FITZGERALD - WR - Pittsburgh
Dennis Green instantly gets the explosive receiving corp that fits his offense by adding Fitzgerald to Anquan Boldin and Bryant Johnson. Even if Oakland decides to stay at #2 and selects Fitgerald, the Cardinals get Mike Williams as a consolation prize. The Cardinals can't possibly screw that up, can they?

4
Oakland Raiders
MIKE WILLIAMS - WR - USC
The Raiders need a QB and WR but we think they will take Williams over Roethlisberger. Could go either way but Williams is just too good of a talent to pass up here.

5
Washington Redskins
SEAN TAYLOR - S - Miami
No surprises here as the Redskins take the best defensive player in the draft. You combine Taylor with Lavar Arrington and there will be plenty of pop on the defensive side of the ball in Washington.

6
Detroit Lions
KELLEN WINSLOW II - TE - Miami
Miami scores two in a row when the Lions take the highest rated TE in the draft. Beerdude.com thinks this guy is overated. Why? The last 4 letters of his name are SLOW.

7
Cleveland Browns
DEANGELO HALL - CB - Va Tech
Cleveland tries to trade up but no one wants to take out their trash. They stay at #7 and draft one of the top CBs in the draft. Might also take a hard look at WinSLOW if the Lions pass on him.

8
Atlanta Falcons
ROY WILLIAMS - WR - Texas
Roy is a step below Mike, but we give him the nod over Reggie due to his speed. The second of the Williams WR trio to be taken. The Falcons are really hoping that Mike Williams drops to them, but don't you think Mike Vick to Mike Williams is asking for a little too much?

9
Jacksonville Jaguars
REGGIE WILLIAMS - WR - Washington
WRs are starting to fly off the board and Jacksonville doesn't want to be left out in the cold. Reggie Williams is a big, tough WR who should make a nice target for Leftwich.

10
Houston Texans
TOMMIE HARRIS - DT - Oklahoma
Houston could go with Vince Wolfolk here but Harris seems to be the safer pick. Other options might include one of the remaining CBs like Gamble or Robinson.

11
Pittsburgh Steelers
BEN ROETHLISBERGER - QB - Miami(OH)
Christmas comes early for Steeler fans as possibly the best QB in the draft drops out of the top 10. If Roethlisberger is still there, this is a no brainer for Pittsburgh.

12
New York Jets
CHRIS GAMBLE - CB - Ohio State
The J-E-T-S need CB H-E-L-P. They get it with Gamble, who covered big time WRs in the Big 10.

13
Buffalo Bills
WILL SMITH - DE - Ohio State
Buffalo needs a DE and they have their choice of Smith or Udeze. They choose the more experienced player in Smith.

14
Chicago Bears
SHAWN ANDREWS - OL - Arkansas
Da Bears could go with a DT or DE here but we have to throw another OL in the top 15 somewhere and this is as good a place as any.

15
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
VINCE WOLFOLK - DT - Miami
The Bucs need some new beef in the middle. Wolfolk fits the bill.

16
Oakland Raiders
PHILLIP RIVERS - QB - NC State
We had to throw you at least one good curve. Al Davis sends picks, players, and a dozen, drunken Darth Raiders across the bay to the rival 49ers so they can select Rivers. The 49ers have many holes to fill and they can still get a quality WR at the top of the second round.

17
Cincinnati Bengals
DUNTA ROBINSON - CB - South Carolina
Isn't there a run on the remaining CBs around this time of the draft every year? The Bengals get their man with the speedy Robinson.

18
New Orleans Saints
D.J. WILLIAMS - LB - Miami
The selection of Miami defensive players continues as Williams becomes the first LB selected.

19
Minnesota Vikings
KENECHE UDEZE - DE - USC
The Vikes need a DE and this guy can bring it. All we can say is we hope this guy knows how to freeze his ass off.

20
Miami Dolphins
VERNON CAREY - OL - Miami
The Fish need help on the O line and they won't let Carey get out of South Florida. They could also select a WR here.

21
New England Patriots
STEVEN JACKSON - RB - Oregon State
Is this really fair? We guess this makes up for the Red Sox.

22
Dallas Cowboys
ANTWAN ODOM - DE - Alabammy
Dallas needs an edge rusher and Odom has been moving up. Parcels takes the chance.

23
Seattle Seahawks
IGOR OLSHANSKY - DT - Oregon
Seattle has a few options here but we chose Olshansky because this guy sounds like he can put away some brew.

24
Denver Broncos
KEVIN JONES - RB - Va Tech
Jake may have flaked out at the alter but he still gets a needed replacement in the backfield. Normally the Broncos wait until the later rounds to get their RBs but Jones is too good to pass up.

25
Green Bay Packers
WILL POOLE - CB - USC
GB needs a DB so they go with Poole, who should immediately contribute to a shaky pass defense.

26
Saint Louis Rams
DERRICK STRAIT - CB - Oklahoma
The Rams need a CB and there are many good ones in this draft.

27
Tennessee Titans
JACOB ROGERS - OL - USC
The Titans need to get McNair more protection. Rogers is a guy who can shore up the perimeter.

28
Philadelphia Eagles
AHMAD CAROLL - QB - Arkansas
The Eagles need replacements in the defensive backfield.

29
Indianapolis Colts
RANDY STARKS - DT - Maryland
Indy could also go LB with this pick but Starks is too good to pass up.

30
Kansas City Chiefs
MARQUISE HILL - DE - LSU
KC wants a CB at this spot but many of the good ones are off the board. They take Hill instead.

31
Carolina Panthers
KEITH SMITH - CB - Georgia Tech
The Panthers fill some holes on the defensive side of the ball.

32
San Francisco 49ers
MICHAEL CLAYTON - WR - LSU
The 49ers trade back up into the first round and get a great value in Michael Clayton.
